This is in response to a comment made on my last posting. The comment was ‘ wow… u took 5 subjects and scored all As? Better than Adam…haha…but that does not mean Adam is lousier than you…’ by Koh
I have always said that anyone can do exactly what I have done and a whole lot more. I tell all my participants that their mission is not to be as good as me, but to aim to be even better. I believe that the hallmark of a great teacher is one who can train people who are better than you. If not, there is no growth! It has taken me over 12 years to fine tune all my learning and wealth creation strategies. However, when my students open their minds to truly learn and apply what I teach, they get the essence, teachings and lessons I have accumulated over the years within a few days. They are on a much shorter learning curve than I am. So, theoratcally, they should and could be better.
I am be proud of my OWN achievements but I am EVEN MORE proud of many of my students who have used my strategies and surpassed what I done within a shorter period of time. Besides Samantha, I would like to just share a few really inspiring stories. Nan Aisyah (KL, Malaysia) from 5As and 5Bs in her Prelims, scored 10A1s for SPM (Malaysian equivalent of O levels) 2 months after my training program.
Doris Ng (Singapore) was offered a scholarship by NUS (engineering) to skip her Masters and do her PhD in Chemical Engineering. So far, she has scored an ‘A’ in every single doctorate module. Before my training, she only managed to get a merit bachelors degree (without Honors). One of my first studnets in the Patterns of Excellence Program, Dr. Clemen Chiang (the guy you see in the news everyday) achieved his first million within 2 years after my training youth programs where he set his goals to do so. I, instead took over 7 years to achieve my first million (I started my first biz at 15 years old). I must say thought that out of the 7 years, the first 5 years were really paying for al the stupid mistakes I made and the majority of my wealth and succcess was generated in teh last 2 years.
ONe reason why many smart people are never able to grow their business into a powerful and big company is because they adopt the mindset that ‘nobody can be as good as me’. So, they subconsciously hire ‘yes men’ who are less capable than them. In fact, they feel threatened when others outshine them. They do all the IMPORTANT jobs themselves and was listen to new ideas from their staff (afterall, ‘I am the smartest’ is their mentality.)
My belief is very different. IN fact, I believe that if you as the CEO (owner, founder) are the smartest guy in the company, then YOU ARE IN TROUBLE! It means that your company (made up of all your staff) are NOT great, Only you are great! Which means, your company can never grow beyond a one-man show. My secret of being able to grow Adam Khoo Learning Technologies Group (AKLTG) so rapidly and massively is because I keep idenitifying and hiring people who are more talented than me in different areas and empower them to do their thing! In fact, when some studnets comment that one of my trainers is more dynamic than me, it MAKES ME HAPPY AND PROUD. It means that I have built a dream team that can work without ME! The true success of an entrepreneur is his ability to make himself OBSOLETE, just like the way Bill Gate and Warren Buffett has. It is only this way that you can step out of your business and enjoy a truly passive income stream!
Wow Adam, another excellent read! The philosophy of business is so like NLP. NLP does its job on a person and then leave, as if as it was never there, not unlike what you wrote about business where you create a dream team that can function with or without you!
quoting a little from dr chiang mixed with mine,
“its the destiny of every generation to surpass its previous one. we have the duty to guide the new generation so that they will learn better and faster. we set the standard for them to follow. if we can earn $1 million in 5 years, my younger generation can do it in 3 years, and his generation will be able to score it in 1 year.”
Hi Adam, this is excellent philosophy and it certainly work much better for both parties really. It’s a win-win game for all and everyone learns, grow and develop in their own way.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and stories!
The best to you!
Hey Adam,
A great post! I agree whole-heartedly that it’s extremely important to not withhold anything when you mentor, because when it comes to the bottom line, everyone loses in the end.
Hi Adam
You certainly walk-the-talk! I witnessed it first-hand at the recent wealth academy seminar where you gave so much of your knowledge, time and effort to ensure that we as students, learned and more importantly, understand.
The passion you demonstrated clearly shows you practice what you preach!
Thanks so much.

“Effectiveness, Wealth and Health”
Hi all.
This is my first time posting here, as it is my first visit.
After visiting a library here, I pick up a book called Secret of self-made millionnaires, my habit is that I do not have much trust at these titles as are marketing tips to attract the potential readers, however I decided to buy this time instead of borrow from NL.
The book really worth its price, not a big amount to invest to read it, but the information inside are more important and worth more than its price which can only cover a lunch at arab street.
Honestly the book contains good and efficient ideas how to manage your financial life, but I think it is very difficult and hard to take action using these advises and tips.
The most things I enjoyed is the stories about the world’s richest people
The book is useful tool for those who want to success in their real life, but for the people here online who are looking to make an income from the Internet, I do not think so, because the book does not reveal much strategies about this market, few information with no details.
Anyway, it is a good book to purchase and read with a joy.
Good luck Adam
Very measured content 🙂
