Watching this interview of Jim Carrey reminded me of the awesome power of visualisation and how we manifest what we want by first creating a compelling image in our minds. In this interview, Jim Carrey talked about how he was broke when he first started out as an actor in the 1980s-1990s. In 1990, he read a book about the power of visualisation and decided to constantly imagine himself getting more and bigger acting contracts. Then in 1990, he wrote himself a check for ‘US$10 million’ and dated it June 1995 for acting services rendered. He then placed this check in his wallet and carried it everywhere he went. This was how he programmed his mind for wealth and success. 5 years later, in 1995, he got a contract to act in ‘Dumb and Dumber’ and he was to be paid $10 million for the movie. His goal had come true.
This was almost exactly what I did when I was daydreaming 15 year old student at Ping Yi Secondary school. I remember that back in 1987, when my friends were listening to the teacher in class, I would be daydreaming and drawing ‘Name Cards’ that said – Adam Khoo, CEO, Adam Khoo Enterprises, Multi-millionaire, award winning businessman and author. I kept visualising this future I wanted so clearly in my mind. 20 years later, I had created my reality. So, never underestimate the power of visualisation. ” everything is created twice. It is first created in the mind… before it can be manifested in physical reality’
